Spectrum Blind

Free verse reflections

By Cece TPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I want to love you

The way others do

The way that makes them swoon and

Fall at your feet

They watch the air around you ripple with magic

All the hues of light and blue create a haze that hypnotizes them all

She smells like old leather and smoke and the pages of a book

Warm and comforting

Golden sweet

Honey and sunshine dripping from the curves on her lips

The curve of her hips

Even falling from her fingertips

Her skin to her hair

She is a cosmic variegation

A fringe of pinks and plums frame your face

Inks of every shade

Color and cover her body

So many stories that they all wish to read

I want to feel that full entrancement

The flush of red you send

The fuzzy grays I feel for you

Maybe I’m colorblind or just blind to your spectrum

Maybe this glass is broken and over time

I’ll find a mirror that shows my true reflection

heartbreak
