A squirrel runs through a tulip tree,

Its path is traced by the fall

Of heavy leaves raining down.

A flock of sparrows descends into the yard,

There to eat thrown out bread.

25 birds rain silently onto the ground.

The flock is occasionally joined by cardinals, jays.

They all twitter, sing while eating.

A family of noisy birds lunching on bread.

An unseen intruder, threat, danger, (feral cat?)

Arrives in the area of the birds.

25 birds explode simultaneously into the air.

Sparrows fly as one force to another yard, another lunch.

Sudden quiet descends.

The squirrel runs through the tulip tree.
