We started with a spark.

Two brave hearts who wanted to grow.

Who knew it would mostly be for show?

Sparks grew to flames.

The flames flickered hues of blue.

Then the flames grew meek.

We didn’t know what to do.

We failed to find more fuel.

Now, two fools who want to go.

No warmth, it started to turn cold.

I tried to ignore the ice beams.

You poured the gasoline.

The spark was different from before.

The flames now danced with skulls.

Smoke filled our lungs.

Is this what our love has become?

Out the window, I made an escape.

You landed on the other side of the fence.

Orange and red reflect in my eyes.

As it burns down, we say goodbye.

From the ash, I dust off my heart.

Apart from being burned, it still has a beat.

We both survived the heat.

We rebuild, separately.
