sound of quietness

thoughts of an open mind

A freezing chill sliding on my skin is felt:

As lying in my bed drowning in thoughts I am.

Keeping me company the cold air and warm brain

Or hot blanket and cool belief

Is it summer or winter?

Not sure, no way to be certain.

I don't remember, my mind is busy

As overthinking is how my time is spent...

My pulse is slow

But my mind still races;

The heart stays quiet

While the head screams loud.

No time can be found after being wasted;

So I'm left alone...

in a place out of the world,

in the total absence of life

and the loss of time.

My attention caught by the ticking of the clock

and the stillness of silence,

Here I am, somewhere

Where time itself forget to move.

Stream of Consciousnesssurreal poetry
