Just to be clear:

first,

you were betrayed.

you betrayed me.

After feeling that hurt,

you decided to

give it

to

me.

I can't ever imagine

going forward

after feeling this pain

and intentionally hurting

another human being

by lying to them

and

betraying them

and using them

to meet my needs.

in this same way.

I cannot

even fathom,

I cannot

ever

imagine

doing what you

have done

to me

to another

human

being.

God,

no matter how much

the world

tries to

break

my

heart

and steal my spirit

and my faith,

keep me

from becoming

like the world.

Take the bitterness

and take the hate

from my heart

so I might

never

do the same.

Help me

to be more like you

so I might never

be the source

of someone else's pain

but instead

a source

of faith

and love

and safety.

Certainly

it should be

easy

not

to hurt someone

on

purpose

and if I'm paying attention

with care

and respect

it should be easy

not

to hurt someone

"on accident,"

either.

How hard can it be

to not

hurt

another

human

being?
