Soul

anomalous antagonistic autonomy Pt ii

By BrenPublished 4 months ago 1 min read
Top Story - September 2025

i conspired with several wayward parts of myself

and embarked on a plot to murder my ego

i peeled my fingers off like a glove

one at a time

a delicate and precise slow motion striptease

of keratin tipped opposable digits

i knew what was coming but not what to expect

i knew what was gonna happen but it hadn't happened yet

i plaited a frail tail of feverishly fresh expectations

into a twisted knot of scratchy fractured dreams

strand upon strand went straight through my deft hands

and issued a cacophony of mismatched moans and screams

i slowly ingested several pleasant poisons

and let them lay waste to internal time

i made the clocks go backwards by the second

and took stock of all that's mine

as i floundered all grounded

parts of me took to the sky

i knew then that this is what it is

but i couldn't tell you why

i soared above many broken lands

i burned laugh lines into my face

i became a part of all i touched

leaving hints but never a trace

afflicted and adrift amidst this organic wonder

an informed and educated second guess

the silence and soft pealing of racing thunder

so what awkward piece of me is next?

An interesting thought piece with a video link I should have seen ages ago.

    Fascinating poem.

  • i became a part of all i touched, leaving hints but never a trace. I loved so much about this piece, but this line burned like the laugh lines you mentioned
