sorry

but it's not my fault

In shadows cast by dreams once bright,

You found your path, took to the flight,

And I, left here with heart in hand,

Grew needy in this barren land.

Each smirk you wore, a dagger's kiss,

Piercing through the fragile bliss,

Emotions swell, a tide of tears,

A symphony of silent fears.

This chapter closes, not by choice,

But by the silence of your voice.

You failed to see the spark, the flame,

That whispered hope, yet brought me pain.

It's not my fault you turned away,

Or that you doubt the light of day.

Each step I took, I hoped you'd see,

The possibilities that could be.

Yet here I stand, regret entwined,

For meeting you, I’ve lost my mind.

But still I say, with sorrow's plea,

Forgive me, love, for loving thee.
