Sonnet to memories of summer
Summer's day challenge
By James M. PiehlPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

Of all the memories I have of summer
And of all those things I know the best
When the days are hot and getting warmer
When we find the time to think and rest
We will always have the calm of twilight
Between the busy buzz of day
Held in hands that brought our curtain of night
And gently put the struggle away
From that we filled ourselves with slumber
And took from what time we need
To tread calmly through sleep's water
We carry with us our soul's seed
And sow our way through all of summer
To reap our memories harvest what we are given from her
