Sonnet #9

Stars

By ChampionElCidPublished about a year ago 1 min read

The night sky is filled with light and wonder

To look above and see its majesty

It takes my fears and tears them asunder

So, they cannot bring worry unto me

Have you thought of what lies beyond this Earth?

Of planets and moons not yet conceived

Of stars that have yet to have their own birth

Of wonderous things that cannot be believed

How small we must feel in the galaxy

To know all that must lie out there beyond

So much that we will never get to see

For we are as fish trapped in a small pond

It may be that we will not reach the stars

For science still heals from religious scars
