Sonnet #3

Youth

By ChampionElCidPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Oh lowly youth, how far you now seem gone

Now here I stand, the better part behind

And forward look to days not half as long

Now that years will take their toll on my mind

What hast thou done? How spent ye life's great gift?

Didst thou achieve the dreams that were in heart?

Are you well with family? Is there a rift?

Does thou have a lover? Did they depart?

Remember your sorrows, how did you feel?

When sadness took hold of your awesome soul

Remember your triumphs, for they are real!

That feeling of gladness to win a goal!

When at the end added up shall it weigh

More than or less than whatever said they
