Song and Dance

Their song and dance is now over and done.

They had their moment of truth and charity.

Those faces have left, and we know who won.

We can’t blame them for having their fun.

Each, for a moment, made us so happy.

But their song and dance is now over and done.

And we all joined them, had our moment in the sun,

So why feel broken and cheated (tell me)?

Those faces have left, and we know who won.

As I thought many times before, one

has to accept we are both wise and silly.

Our song and dance is now over and done.

But to let them take our faith, and stun

us with their quick turn? We share the apathy.

Those faces have left, and we know who won.

Some stood with us; others were quickly gone.

There is hope beyond their hype, so please, believe me:
