Somewhere Up There

serenade to the moon

Somewhere down here beneath your quiet light,

I’m here thinking of you and speaking aloud tonight.

Somewhere up there, I know that you still care,

And you’ve seen all the nights I’ve sent my heart up there.

*

And even though you shine brightly so very far away,

it helps to know we share the same soft sky each day.

And when the night wind hums its gentle lullaby,

I feel you watching over as the hours drift on by.

*

Somewhere up there, if love still feels this true,

then I’ll keep watching, somewhere down here,

reaching out for you.

I remember that cartoon movie with Feivel, the mouse. Your poem made think of a great memory. Good job.
