Then I was a child with dreams a plenty
now I am almost 40 steeped in reality
Then I was reckless and carefree
Now I have learned to tread more carefully
Then I was friend to anyone with time
Now I keep a close circle, no longer blind
Then I was sporty, climbed trees, and captured flags
Now I like to run, inside, on moving mats
Then I could eat every treat without care
Now I treat my body as a temple, so much more aware
Then I would spend hours with pages and pages to write
Now I am still a poet day to day and night to night

Your poem is characterized by similes, beautiful descriptive language, and a sense of wisdom. As always, an authentic and well-crafted piece. ''Now I treat my body as a temple, so much more aware." This line is particularly important to be understood. 🌞🌅🌄
