Love gone wrong
By: Dianna Hoiland
Sometimes love goes wrong
Not the right time
The right person
Or right place

Sometimes we wish to stay
But we cannot
Just meant to keep searching
Keep hoping
Sometimes love was only here for a lesson
To teach you the things you did not know
Trials to build your character
Remind you of your worth
Sometimes love is meant as a guide
To ferry us past a stagnant point within our lives
Show us the light at the end of the tunnel
Show us the path
Sometimes love leaves us looking like a fool
Lost in the pursuit
Shattered by the disappointments
But still, we stay
Sometimes love tricks us
Tells us its meant to be
When it was only meant for a second
Never eternity
Sometimes love pulls us apart
Torn between what is smart
And what we want
Clouds our judgement in the worst of times
Sometimes love hurts us
Even when it doesn't mean to
Leaves us cold
A broken heart
Sometimes love leaves tears in our eyes
From the good to the bad
The beautiful and the ugly
The power of love ever changing
Sometimes in love we just have to let it be
We cannot force it
Or chase it extensively
We must let it be
Sometimes in love things are not as they seem
Fear clouds our emotions
Makes our goals a little foggy
Till we lose ourselves in the idea we created
Sometimes in love we must admit we are wrong
Face our mistakes
Make amends
And deal with its consequences
Sometimes in love we hurt those who care
Leave them lonely and lost
Like we never cared
Disregard the connection we shared
Sometimes in love our differences rip us apart
Pull us in opposite directions
and shred our hearts
Here for a moment, but gone in an instant
Sometimes in love we wish it wasn't so
Try to hard to never let go
Hold on even when they are long gone
For a hope that one day everything would change
Sometimes in love we forget about ourselves
Let love gone wrong destroy our confidence
Convince ourselves we aren't worth it
Even when we deserve it
Sometimes in love we must remember our strength
All the nights we fought alone
And roots we sowed
All on our own
Sometimes in love it takes many forms
Our mothers warmth
Our friends who hype us up till the end
Our children who love us when we are less then perfect
Sometimes in love we forget this is what makes us human
Our emotions and vulnerabilities
Our downfalls and triumphs
And sometimes in love we forget to first love ourselves
