Something In The Air

Make memories while you can

My childhood holiday seasons

always involved the beaches.

I couldn't imagine a December without sun

until I came to the United States of Trump.

Bundled up, a hot chocolate I craved

now I know why it's the land of the brave.

I fight through the cold

in layers of clothes

and enjoy the atmosphere

with Kevin McCallister.

Home Alone's a tradition,

watched yearly with passion

lights up at Christmas

in the air, is romance.

Music blasting all around

some sober 0r strung out

hand in hand, friends, lovers too

selfie sticks and photo booths

help us make memories

to talk about.

Such a beautifully nostalgic poem! I love how you capture the contrast between warm beach holidays and chilly U.S. winters. Your words bring out the coziness of holiday traditions and the joy of making memories. Truly heartwarming!
