I wasn't going to write another poem
I was gonna shove my dreams out
and let go of them
But just before I awoke, I decided:
I want
TO LIVE
TO DREAM
TO CREATE
I will never hate music
It has heart and it has soul
and I've always felt that rhythm
deep inside, a wandering soul,
so afraid, I would hide who I was
from everyone else.
The only person knowing me was myself.
I didn't take good care of my mental health.
But I dreamed of life beyond this Sweet Virginia Breeze,
Golden, sunny air across days and miles, and horizons
Sunrises and sunsets. Stone after red stone and sand
Until at least here I land
At the place I was always meant to be.
Just me and the open road
looking for an adventure.
So my point is,
Instead of quitting poetry,
I'm going to make MY LIFE
the poetry.
If I feel my intuition screaming,
I'm going to jump out of that plane
I'm going to dare myself to dream
To live a life I've never SEEN
To always be on the edge of my seat
Most importantly, to just BE ME.
This is the clear energy that I crave
The way I can forget my insecurities,
Be brave, and speak MY truth.
I think I've finally arrived;
I think it's time to go home.
