Someone Crack Open a Window
Cause it sure stinks
my stomachache is intentional
a whirlwind combination of greasy campechanas and ongoing explosive political disasters
the toilet has seen better days
so have the innocent people who just want the basic right of existence
who've been swept into this aching world
with rivers running red
the goal is not red from river to sea, rather life and prosperity
but we keep getting duped
propaganda is a powerful tool, especially when you're bred into it
when big brother holds a gun to your head and tells you what to wail about when they smack your naked baby ass
and yet
the three sacred sisters are cut down and scattered among landfills
seeds that push to grow through cracks in concrete hearts
yet even dandelions emerge through cracks in the sidewalks
vines scale upwards and sunflowers turn the better way because they know
they know that at the end of the longest day
the day that spans lifetimes for many
that it will all end, somehow, in some way,
because at the end of the storm there's a rainbow
and there's always potpourri to spray after the shitstorm in the bathroom

We might need a lot of potpourri after this shitshow...that's a weirdly comforting line though. Awesome work as usual.
That's a very hopeful and positive ending. Loved your poem!
Very powerful. I like mention of dandelion. It's the symbol of resilience.
Great political response Oneg! π
That's gonna take a whole lot of potpourri! I bet he put tariffs on them as well.
Oh this is definitely a mood.
