somehow i can't seem to un-miss you
you set off with a confident smile
hold fast wayward wanderer
the journey's end is in sight
no matter how the burden may feel
move one boot past the other
there's a soup on the oven waiting
we're expecting that you'll be tired
the house may be quiet when you enter
but don't let that turn you away
there's a bed already made inside
please make yourself at home please
i've been waiting for you day and night
praying that one moment soon enough
you'll be here with me
praying that one moment soon enough
you'll be here with me
for i know you went to travel the world
and you set off with confident smile
ready to shake up the world
and i tried to convince myself i was okay
but the heartache never fully healed
to impact and influence all that you could
i know you're now doing all that you love
but somehow i can't seem to un-miss you
but somehow i can't seem to un-miss you
About the Creator
poetryinwaiting
I love all things writing...though I am particularly biased towards good, vulnerable poetry. I love pouring my heart on a page with every piece I write. Life is for expressing, not containing.
