Some Days Are Just Like This
"Getting old is not for sissies!"
What was I doing now?
Just now, was that a cow?
Where did I put my list?
Want to play a game of whist?
What did you say your name was?
Do you want to make bear claws?
Is it Tuesday or Wednesday...
No, it must be Thursday
Tomorrow will be better
Will I need a sweater?
Time goes by way too fast
It seems as though it was
the end of fall because
we have that weather here
again, nothing to fear
we are in summer yet
Fall will be here soon, I bet
I will relax and enjoy
with the girls and the boy
we have plenty to do
we can keep you busy too!

Nicely written Denise! ☺️🌸
What a perfect rhyming poem and could it be a song of living life to the fullest.
This is so true, Denise. I remember when I was young my mother was always saying "I didn't know where the time goes". I thought it was a stupid thing to say, yet here I am now saying exactly the same thing.
Art Linkletter said that "growing old isn't for sissy's". He was so right. And also the saying, "When you got your health, you have just about everything". Truer words were never spoken. Great Poem. nicely done!!
Lol, this was so relatable. I loved it!
The older we get, the faster time seems to go! Great poem 😀
