The moonlight glistens out over the water

and the world is completely silent…

Everything around her is still,

almost in mourning.

Tears drip silently from her bloodshot eyes.

Quiet regrets drip from her wrists.

She needs to do this.

It's for her own good.

The pitch black waters,

a tar far below her, calling...

A somber sounding ghost beckons,

echoing her heart's mournful cries.

She cries out “I’m sorry!”

then jumps from the cliff.

No more pain…no more suffering…

No more feeling a mess…

Waves crash and consume her body.

Currents drag her down below.

Her lungs gasp for air.

It won’t be long now...

sad poetry
