In the midst of steel and glass,

Amidst the city's constant buzz,

There lies a heart that's shattered,

In loneliness it truly does dwell.

Amongst the towering skyscrapers,

I feel the weight of my despair,

Lost in a world of concrete walls,

Yearning for a love that's no longer there.

The city lights can't chase away,

The darkness that now fills my soul,

Just a ghost of what once was,

A love that's now beyond control.

I walk these busy streets alone,

Invisible amongst the throng,

A broken heart left to wander,

In the shadows, I now belong.

My tears fall silently like rain,

Invisible against the city's gloom,

A heart that's lost amidst the noise,

Longing for a love that met its doom.

So here I stand, amidst the city's grandeur,

Yet feeling smaller than ever before,

A heart that's broken in solitude,

In the skyscrapers, I am no more.
