Soft Doesn’t Shatter

For the ones built to last, not perform.

By Marcus HillPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

Not everything survives

by fighting.

Some things endure

by listening

to the storm’s language,

and answering nothing.

By holding breath

instead of ground.

By learning the difference

between breaking

and bending on purpose.

Resilience isn’t loud —

it hums.

It waits.

It chooses when to rise,

and when to let the wind

tire itself out.

Real strength

does not chase applause.

It outlives

what tried to swallow it.

And when the noise fades,

the quiet ones —

the steady ones —

are still here,

rooted and unbeaten,

soft on purpose,

holy in their staying.

Because some souls

aren’t built to impress the world —

only to outlast it.
