Snowman

An ode to snowman

I was born in subtropical India,

never saw snow in real life.

I did not know what a snowman was,

certainly, never built one.

Then, I came to California

got opportunity—

to read, see, and build one,

I painted snowman too.

Who does not love Olaf?

He made us fall in love

with snowman.

This festive season,

they are everywhere,

inflatables, mostly,

waving cheerfully.

Then I learned Spanish.

Snowman is called 'muñeco de nieve'.

Recently, I learned Japanese—

it is called 'yukidaruma'.

It feels nice to know,

about this fun figure of snow.
