A poem about finding yourself in someone else

Together we wander through the forest of your mind. It is yet another night, and the stars of your thoughts are bright and wondrous. We walk peacefully on the icy trails that wind through this winter scene. They are slick and cool. Yet I am sturdy on your grounds, kept solid by the pulsating emotions that seep from your heart into my own. In your mind I am strong and vibrant. In your heart I am the endless hopefulness of things yet to come. In your arms I am comforted and serene. The tranquility of your words in these blackened night skies sweeps me off my feet, and I am yours.

You know not of the effect you have on me. On these glassy floors I slip, and with a delicate intermingling of fingertips you bring me to my feet. I hold you like a flame holds onto a burning wick; I melt at the heat of your desire, keeping me warm in this cold winter scene. With you I am protected and fearless. You pull me deep into the forest, and I follow without hesitation. You are the North Star, guiding me through darkened nights.

We wander through this forest with no direction, but we are not lost. We are exactly where we are meant to be. Purposefully intertwined together in sharp winter winds. I gaze into your stare. You are undeniably yourself, and I am enamored with the person you are. I love and crave and long for every piece of you, your whole self. You. In the dark I see the glistening in your eyes. They are bright and wondrous, like the stars above us. With you I do not stumble, but for you I am eternally falling; falling infinitely into the depths of the forest of your mind. In these woods, I have found you. I am home.
