Slaying the Gray

Redesign of Humankind

Burst into life, a lackluster slate

Upon which the world would enigmatically paint

It’s colorful scenes and thematic schemes

What does this mean?

So bright yet not seen

The world that I see is more vivid it seems,

Rubies and emeralds, no reds and no greens

There's prisms in bubbles reflecting the sea

Is the bubble a witness to beauty in me?

Such marvels to find

But is it just my eyes

Interpreting light only my heart defines?

Seeing dazzling colors, while others are blind

Maybe in time

Maybe in time

The whole world will rip off the shields from its eyes

And out will pour all of the judgments inside

And crash to the floor … A sharp, swift demise

Only in time

Will our view be sublime

Ticking clock in the sky

Weathered hands pointing high

Whispering gently “Have no fear inside”

They see you my dear!

Their vision is clear!

Your prism has shattered the critics you fear.

You blaze a bit brighter

Amber flames light your eyes

Reflecting radiant hues deep inside

Prismatic shades that capture the mind

Now is the time

For your spectrum to shine

The whole world is ripping the hate from their eyes

Embracing the fierceness of nature’s design

When you muddle the colors together you’ll find

Humanity’s canvas is truly divine

We shield and defend it … our natural bliss

Once viewed as a curse, now perceived as a gift

Opportunity stands by to grant us a kiss

Let’s rip off the stitch

Concealing our bliss

And tear off the paper concealing our gifts

Shatter the norm … its neutrals and grays

Splatter this canvas with glitter and slay

Slay down the walls

That told us to stay

Coerced us to lay

In a colorless place

Life, no matter how mundane, can be rewritten in such a way that the dull froths into excitement. This understanding has led to a magical reality, where I no longer accept things as they are, but instead how they are written.
