Skyfall

.

By Amber CrockerPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

I was on top of the world,

it was cloud nine.

Through those rose stained glasses

everything was fine.

I thought I had been in love,

"Nothing could be better than this."

It only took one moment,

a mere second in time without

those glasses on, to see

what was really going on.

All I needed was that moment

of clarity to see all the wrong.

Everything came crashing down,

I started falling from the sky.

I had been so high I was afraid

to hit the ground.

New found sight makes me feel alone

when I was alone all along.

Everything had been taken but

nothing will be forsaken.

How couldn't I see the signs?

The evil was hidden in all the lies,

omitted so I only say the good.

Ignorance is a strong willed giant

that is never good when you are

being the fool.

How can I believe again

when this whole thing was a lie?

I never wanted to say goodbye.

I look up toward the sky

All I see is darkness,

all I wanted was forgiveness

but all I received was exile and pain.

Now I am in the dark and

the fairy tale has ended.
