Sky Watchers Are In For A Treat July 2025

I found this on the internet it’s not my own work but it’s interesting

Their displays began on July 17 and they will run until August 23, peaking overnight around August 11-12. The peak period is usually amongst the highlights of the annual stargazing calendar.

Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG) said: “The Perseid meteor shower is one of the best meteor showers of the year because it produces bright meteors and is one of the most active.

"There’s also a high chance of seeing fireballs, which are very bright meteors, as well as meteors with long trains during the Perseid meteor shower.

Sky Watchers, Look Up

They’ve started already,

quiet flickers in the dark.

No thunder, no sound,

just streaks across the black.

From July to late August,

they come and go,

but the best nights

are still to come.

Bright ones, fast ones,

some so bold they leave a trail.

They call them fireballs.

Not the kind that burn,

just the kind that steal your breath,

then vanish.

No telescope needed.

Just a clear bit of sky,

a place to sit,

and time to wait.

The Perseids, they call them.

Old as anything,

older than the noise we live in.

If you catch one,

don’t blink.

Gone in a second,

like most of the good things are.

not a sky watcher but this sounds cool. Sadly it's unsafe to leave house in the dark now
