Sky and Earth

Each morning’s sunrise is a kiss goodbye

As the earth and sky begin a new day

Poems written in clouds and stars to say:

“Our love stays strong though we are far away.”

Earth’s mountains reach up to embrace the sky,

And the wind steals a kiss as it goes by.

Their love is distanced, but they’ve found a way.

They’ll continue this story, come what may.

“It’s never easy”, they say with a sigh,

“To be so far from the one that you love.”

And though the distance tries to keep them apart,

It can’t succeed if he lives in her heart.

As the sun follows its path up above,

Time passes slowly from morning to noon,

But hope returns knowing sunset is soon.
