A shrine of cloth and thread placed paces from your bed
A monument to your skin from past
One you’ll unearth if you stick to the fast
It was so easy then, to dress like a winner
Now you fell like a loser, you just can’t get thinner
Every so often you’ll try on a garb
Cursing you bulge from it, cursing the carbs
You know that you’re healthy, and you’re more than your weight
So why have you condemned yourself to self-loathing fate?
A look in the mirror, you don’t feel like you fit
Cruelly mocking every inch, every bit
Frustrated you research a new diet to do
Making fad plans you’ll never see through
You’re trapped in this cycle, unable to break
Only your happiness and worth is at stake
You’re beautiful though, but you just can’t see
How accepting you now would set yourself free

I think most women and girls go through a stage of always just wanting to be thinner. Nice job and very inspiring!
