the men I know write poems about

sitting on the couch watching

Frasier reruns

and somehow it's profound

I want to be like them

they talk their minds

swimming with thoughts of you

or, how your freckles are

constellations

and deliver the lines on

bed sheets – hospital corners

– and on paper,

copy-pasted

like I never find

my inspiration in a little box

or don’t have a therapist yet

& I don't

I write poems

men call confessionals

and I watch the sky &

when I want to get f***ed

I just ask

social commentary
