Siren Song

What’s so special about a song

That ruined voyages

And brought the sailors running along

Because I don’t how to get through to you

And I could to use a siren song

What do I do

Should I sing about gold

Or deep sea treasures

And stories untold

Waves crashing above

Will that be enough

Anything to avoid

Falling in love

Use a song

That’s known to

Lie and steel

Instead of confessing how I feel

Find a way to cheat

Instead of admitting I’ve been beat

I fear I’ve been cast out to sea

No one to blame

But me

I’m drowning out the sound

As the waves crash down

I think I'm better off keeping my head

Underwater for now

Use a song to lie and cheat

Instead of knowing what you think of me

That might be the reason

We’ve become

Nothing

But history

As I find myself on stranger

I should start to fight for what is mine

Instead of protecting what’s wrong

I could use a siren song

sad poetry
