Sinners Remorse

How We Learn to Hurt and Unlearn to Heal

Hiding shame in corners of justification

only proves we understand our wrongdoings.

The ability to move and misplace guilt,

just to make the soul feel less empty,

only shows how aware we’ve always been.

We create standards

expecting others to abide by them,

with no intention of meeting them ourselves—

that’s cowardice.

For years,

truth was buried beneath societal lies

told to young men

to help them cope with their mistakes.

But a man who speaks and operates

with the intention of disloyalty

isn’t a man at all—

he’s a boy,

scared of commitment.

For too long,

the marathon of accountability

was never truly completed.

So the hurt, disrespect,

and damage passed from person to person

is dismissed—

just to make our conscience comfortable.

The journey from boy to man

is a process of admission.

And the only way to sustain that transformation

is to live in truth—

even when it feels unnatural

to a species foreign to vulnerability.
