Sing to me

Written for a songwriting class in 2004

Hibiscus flower and some weeds

Sing softly to me

Speak the words an ocean couldn’t whisper so sweet

Sing softly your heart to me

Sing softly to me

Tell me words whispered in the breeze

As you sing softly—your heart to me

Sing softly

Be not afraid that my eyes fall away

But sing to me, baby, sing to me

Sing softly

The words that fall upon the sea

Sing to me, sing to me

Falling in love, wasting no time

When you sing ever so softly

Softly to me

Sing

Be not afraid of me

Be not afraid that my eyes fill with tears when you look at me

But sing

Sing like you aren’t willing to waste a moment to be

As you are, as you are, darling, when you sing to me
