We sing of love and seek it all our lives.
We treasure those we love and hold on tight.
For those in whom desire for loving thrives,
Will likely see you through your darkest night.
*
Why is it, then - at times - love fades away?
How can it be that some are left alone?
When loved ones pass and we have more to say,
Can we go on, yet honor those who've flown?
*
Yes, go on seeking love at any cost.
You may just find a soulmate by and by.
Or loving friendship could restore what's lost.
I put it forth that love is worth a try.
*
So keep on loving to the bitter end.
Go on, and sing of love, my loving friend.

This is great! Totally relatable. I'm with someone who's fallen out of love, still stuck in the same house with my ex, so I often feel alone. All my family are dead. Friends here on Vocal but none in my physical space. And yesterday was the anniversary of my father being killed in a car crash when I was 15. But yes. Despite all the heart scars, I have no intention on giving up on love. ⚡💙 Bill⚡
Aww I love this! I’m in a loving friendship right now after a particular damaging relationship left me in a weird place in life. Me and her get on so nice and we do absolutely everything together! This one made me smile 😊
Such a sweet poem in such bitter times: thank you!
This is such a heartfelt tribute to the power of love and why it’s worth holding onto.
