Simplicity Can Be the Truest

Honest and Heartfelt

By Amelia DavisPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

After strolling through a field of wildflowers,

We came to a dock overlooking the lake

When Natalie noticed her wrist,

Bared from where the turquoise bracelet had always sat.

I knew she had worn it since the day we met

Yet never fully thought through what made it so important.

.

As she collapsed into a devastating mess,

I realized that it was more that just the loss of a simple bracelet.

.

Her life completely changed about a year ago,

Leaving only modest objects to remember her mother by.
