Happiness is a simple thing

I find it everywhere I look

Whether it's in the smile of a loved one

Or the depths of a good book

I find it in the skyline

As the sun sets behind the clouds

Or in the wings of a bird up high

As the world, it flies around

I see the beauty of the everyday

At every turn, on every face

I see it in the future

But take a slow and steady pace

I will not rush past these moments

I won't miss one single wilting tree

I must appreciate the vastness

Of the world surrounding me

I will stop and smell the roses

And any other flower I might find

Not a moment overlooked

Nor one memory left behind

I will find it in the wind

As it dances through my hair

In the crashing waves upon the shore

In the moments that we share

Happiness will not evade you

If you see the world for what it is

The innocence of laughter

The thought behind a kiss

Make sure that you remember

To cherish each and every day

Bare witness to its beauty

Whatever comes your way
