The rays of the early morning sun gleam golden on the blue blanket,
raindrops hang down the dead branches,
shining like diamonds through the French window.
A shallow cello plays in the next room,
a Persian rug adds complexity to the marble ground,
shopping bags and parcles in gold decorate the tree.
An ornament to honor the poor and cold,
inspiring to hand out a warm coffee and cookies,
so even the homeless can feel the season's cheer.
Snow twinkles through the globe's plastic shell
in thought of the little workers allowed no break
to give an extra bill for their Christmas joy.
Hand down the diamond ornament,
reflecting our inner kaleidoscope,
peace for the self and no overwhelming stress.
Oh, it's easy to give, and the gift back is even greater,
for being together and having tired smiles all around
is sweeter than any attempt of big presents.
