Silhouette

Perspective

By Colleen WaltersPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

Almost a silhouette,

reaching high

towards a cloud-spangled sky

as if to drape yourself with

a wispy white scarf

against a waking blue space

you greet the sun with your

dew-kissed petals unfurled

your time is short

and your petals will fall to

the earth soon

but a bud waits nearby

to take your place

to greet the sun with

dew-kissed petals unfurled

A wispy white scarf

draped under the same

waking blue sky

almost a silhouette

but I see your

beautiful pinkness

reaching for that

cloud-spangled sky

almost a silhouette

but not quite

but if you were

I would love you

just the same.
