Silent Descent

The Weight of Isolation

By Abdullah KhanPublished about a year ago 1 min read

We are all fading slowly,

Wandering in our own circles,

Not treading on unfamiliar paths,

Not speaking to a stranger,

Not sharing the whispers of our hearts.

We do not listen to others’ pain,

Nor share our own silent sorrows,

Each of us lost in our own way,

Walking with heads bowed low,

Unmoved by the changing seasons.

We miss the chirping of the birds,

And the sweet fragrance in the air,

Caught in a haze of indifference,

Each moment slipping away,

As we fade silently, step by step.
