SILENCE
Baby Sleeping
By Patti Marrs MagillPublished about a year ago • Updated about a year ago • 1 min read

Squeak, squeak, the rocking chair goes back and forth
It is the only sound in the room, other than the
Light breath of the small boy in my arms
Even in sleep, maybe especially in sleep, he is perfect
No one in the world has the right to such joy. Who has earned this prize
Creak, creak, the chair continues to rock, I continue to stare at his face
Every part of me wants this moment to last forever
