Silence before the Storm

Light Breaks Water

Seeing storm clouds gather,

Bumping into each other,

Mixing,

Combining,

Creating a shield against the sun.

Leaving us in the dark,

Protecting our eyes,

Giving the plants a break.

Promising us all rain,

Posing a risk to our lives,

Warning us to be careful.

Waiting,

Tensing up,

Knowing that the light is coming,

Hearing nothing but silence.

Crack!

Rumble!

I let out a breath amidst the rain.

The storm has finally arrived.

Lovely. I've just been for a walk in a storm (not on purpose), but I could feel that the weather just needed to let go. Pressure released.

  • It's like when the emotions get to heavy to keep it all in. So it rains. Loved your beautiful poem!

  • Very nice
