Signs of Excess

another notice to disobey

By BrenPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

it only ever gets exciting

when there is nothing up ahead

put the pedal to the metal

put the speedo in the red

doing a hundred and fifty

or more

straight past the latest plan

insanity and finality

they both whisper

dead ahead

just out of reach

just for now

but not so out of hand

i wanna have some...

i wanna have some more fun

i wanna have some...

i wanna have some more fun

before i die

life only ever becomes fun

at the first sign of excess

at the first hint of outrage

as if i would want or expect

nothing else less

a hundred and fifty

becomes a hundred and eighty

my car is working the load

i give it a little bit more

of the everything that’s left

and it feels like

i’m eating the road
