sign o' the times
we are responsible for our efforts, not the outcomes

do our efforts outweigh our gains?
sometimes.
since there are no absolutes,
yes
and
no,
may feel more accurate.
effort and gains have no easy formula or
theorem to assess input and output.
even if they did,
my dyscalculia would ensure it remained foreign to me.
so,
with nothing telling you that your labor will be worth it,
will you have the courage to try despite the uncertainty?
because who can afford cowardice
in this economy?

I struggle a lot with this. Like I wouldn't wanna put in the effort if I know it's gonna be in pain. Loved your poem!
we can't afford to just let it ride. we just cant.
Very true. Well done, kp, my friend! Another stirring piece of poetry!
