My name; the earth.
The brown, the red, the grounds for birth
But Sienna’s singing solitude, an autumn air of sorts
The colour scheme a lonesome drawl
As summer fades and shadows court
My every wish of foolish bliss and blossoms long forgotten,
Lay longing in the tall and towering cattails for their calling
Patience seeks a tone, a shade, a hue through cooler nights
A warm and fiery yellow like the corn so bold and bright
But to hope and want and pine for only deepens suffering’s song
A constant, haunting loop of notes that
linger dusk till dawn
Sienna; terre de sienne.
My father’s blood and tears
Stained into his paintings
Oh the stories, all these years
You’ll go on seeking solace, may you settle
For the truth
For all is well that lives and dies, your amber soul the proof
