Sibling Love
Ode From A Sister

Nobody could give me a noogie
Nobody but you
Nobody could call you a booby
Nobody but me
Nobody could make fun of my clothes
Nobody but you
Nobody could spray you with the hose
Nobody but me
Nobody could insult my hair
Nobody but you
Nobody could your favorite shirt tear
Nobody but me
Only you could call me silly
Only I could call you Willy
Only you could chuck my chin
Only I could kick your shin
When I was polite you called me a suck up
When you skinned a knee I told you to buck up
When Johnny called me an ugly butt
It was you who used him for a shot putt
When I went on my first date
You warned Tommy of his possible dire fate
When Sylvia dumped you right before prom
I held you as you sniffled your way back to aplomb
[[…I didn’t even tell anyone how you cried…]]
[[…Besides, you would have just said I lied…]]
Growing up we fought as siblings often do
But I always knew I could count on you
Mom and Dad are gone, may they rest in peace
But our love, like theirs, shall never cease
Now we’re both married with kids of our own
We each have our different paths to roam
And family always comes first
My husband, your wife, for better or worse
But remember whenever you need me
I’ll be there whatever may be
As I know you will come if I call
For never once have you let me fall
[[… Unless it was you who tripped me…]]
My beloved brother, I love you … You Silly Willy

This is sibling love at its finest—noogies, name-calling, and all. From tripping each other to always showing up when it counts, it’s a sweet reminder: nobody messes with us… except us. Love you, you Silly Willy! 😊
