Show the Love Now

Say the good things when a person is still alive

By Seema PatelPublished 9 months ago 1 min read
@Seema

When a person dies,

there’s no point writing elegies,

no point crying at the grave,

no point building them

a lavish mausoleum.

They are simply not there,

to feel or appreciate.

They are dirt or ashes now —

beyond this mortal world,

lost in the vast realm of eternity.

If you write, you’re doing it

to feel better, to not feel guilty,

to make sense of the loss,

to process what you couldn't offer.

Remember, the time to love someone

is while they’re still here —

in the fragile human body.

We are emotional beings,

we need connection and

certainly generous compassion.

We gather after death of a person,

go through grief —

We say the deceased were

beautiful souls

But those words come too late.

Let’s change our ways.

Show the love, and support

before the darkness.

What a beautiful idea and one that we should all do. The deceased is in a far better place, and one should as I say just remember the good times you had. They will hear what you say even what they are in heaven.
