Shoreline
I’m walking along the shore
Waiting to see a sunrise
But I’m afraid to hope for one anymore
Why am I full to bursting
With so many words and crystal notes
That I can’t hear?
*
Quietly
Feeling the sand beneath my feet
All is painted in rose now
A beauty that cradles my soul so sweet
But I don’t know
If i can take this afterglow
And make it real
*
Finally
I’m here
In a purple-hued dusk that feels like dawn
Finally
It’s clear
The storm has passed and the clouds are gone
But I’m waiting
To sing the note
That will call in the daylight
*
Anxious
Humming like a hummingbird
To scatter these crystals across the sand
What if all they’ll ever be is words?
I’m so full of beauty
I can barely breathe
*
And I’m grateful
To feel this rush of life again
If that’s all it ever is
I’ll stay on the shore and walk, my friend
The painted horizon doesn’t care
If no one ever sees it
*
Finally
I’m here
In a purple-hued dusk that feels like dawn
Finally
It’s clear
The storm has passed and the clouds are gone
But I’m waiting
To sing the note
That will call in the daylight
*
Fairy dust and morning light
Are dancing all around
Whoever thought that silence
Could be the most beautiful sound?
I haven’t found my voice yet
But at least I have something to say
*
Finally
I’m here
In a purple-hued dusk that feels like dawn
Finally
It’s clear
The storm has passed and the clouds are gone
*
And as I waited
I looked up and saw
That it was daylight
