Shirakawa Village: A Fairytale Wonderland
As if from storybook..

Shirakawa Village
Oh, how strange and wonderful,
A feeling of peace, yet my body is frozen
Is it for the sake of this beauty, I wonder?
Snow-capped peaks and quaint homes, a perfect blend,
As if from a storybook, the scene unfolds before me.

Gassho-zukuri are brown and white.
The form of praying, as if receiving holiness.
Majestic mountains standing guard like sentinels,
Maple trees ablaze with hues so bright, an enchanting spectacle.

My throat is dry, this full of emotion, spellbound by such grandeur,
Longing to stay, yet not fully prepared for this wonderland.
Still, I smile, envisioning myself as the protagonist of this tale,
Wrapped in cozy coats and plush hats, braving the cold without fail.
