Every afternoon I have guests dressed in a myriad of greys.
I listen to steel pillars speak of apathy and floating clouds of the silence of humility.
Every evening I’m kissed by a woman with a multitude of reds.
She caresses me with dense vermillion flames and vivid crimson streams.
Every night I’m visited by a kaleidoscope of blues.
In it are endless indigo oceans and turquoise insects of deception.
Every morning I’m accompanied by many hues of greens,
I smell ghastly verdant poisons and the fetid plague of decay.
Every year I see a bit of white light in a house of innocence, celebrated on Christmas days.
Yet every day, I’m bonded to a raven black chalk that eclipses joy with its endless abyssal ways.
A neon yellow shadow curses me with its plight of cowardice
A shifting shade of orange vitality shows me that creativity is bliss.
Yet, colors I overlooked as I walked with the abyss.
I saw joyful pink compassion with a mesmerizing elegance in amethyst.
A shine of silver intelligence that showed a heart of gold.
Colors and elements I didn’t identify as I overlooked them with trust in the only instinct I could mold.
I grew accustomed to obsidian, brass, and steel.
The elements you presented I see many mimic to near perfection.
I see your flaws in being who you are; that is undoubtedly real.
You are certainly human because you possess what I can’t steal.
A thief I am, as I overcame the environmental dangers of snakes, arachnids, roaches,
I battled with lions, apes, and hyenas and escaped.
I lived with demons and learned to live and fight another day.
Yet you, who also suffer, cling to your hopes and
makes visible to me what I believed to be elusive.
I won’t stick like you, although I now have a path to choose from this.
Whatever may happen between us, I’ll never forget.
The lessons you taught me in showing me hope through regret.
