There is no key to fate
It’s just an overflowing house of lies
So dart through the open door
Catch a splinter on the jamb
Let it scab over, until it’s just another scar
You can pretend you had no control over
Other’s ancestors danced to end drought
With thundering feet, but it rained blood
Chumming the waters, calling a white flood
See? There it is
Another brick in the house of lies
Sheltering us from storms of righteous reckoning
Blame inevitable fate
Blame God for choosing us
Blame everyone but ourselves
As if we were just another meteor
That couldn’t change direction
As if we did not manifest our destiny
With every carefully packed musket ball
And lovingly loaded bullet
Covering up our complicity
Brick by bloody brick
Warming ourselves by fires
Kindled with futures lost

Wow, what a fantastic ending!
This is awesome! i thought my favourite line was going to be, 'an overflowing house of lies', but then every one that followed was at least equally as good. This is so powerful. I love the message.
Wow! What an impressive poem with the word prompts😳✅.
Woah, what you did with the prompt words is an absolute feat! Very impressive, Shaun
